A Walk Down Memory Lane

I recently had a shoot that was very personal to me. After chatting with the mother of 7-year old Marshall on the phone for a few minutes about scheduling a session, I concluded the call by asking her for their home address. When she said the name of the street where they live, my jaw dropped. It was the street I grew up on! All of my childhood memories -- 17 years worth of them -- involve growing up on a historic dead-end street in the "Old Southwest" neighborhood of my hometown. It's an area known for its beautiful, old homes, narrow and often times all brick streets, and gigantic trees everywhere. It was, to say the least, a dream to grow up in an area where all the neighborhood kids knew each other, rode bikes through each other's yards, played kickball right in the middle of the street, and went from door to door singing carols every Christmas Eve. Introducing Baby Piper Lee

I have been looking forward to this blog post ever since my good friend Laura called last summer to tell me she and her husband, Ryan, were pregnant with their first child. They are two of those people you just know will be naturals at the whole parenting thing because of the balance they strike in their own relationship and the seeming ease with which they interact with kids. Even though I was anxiously awaiting the news that their baby was on its way, I found myself SHOCKED when I got the text message of baby Piper Lee's arrival TWO WEEKS EARLY. Ashley Mansur Photography has a new blog!

Well, I had a personal blog about a year ago, and it was so fun writing about life and documenting it in photos. I have been gearing up to launch a new blog for Ashley Mansur Photography and decided to make my first entry with some family photos from Easter. Thanks for stopping by! Happy Easter! So, every time I get to spend a holiday with my little cousins, I know I'm going to have a ball. This Easter was no different. It was a laid back day but that doesn't mean there was a shortage of cute kids, laughs, food, or drink. We had it all. I hope you had a lovely holiday/Sunday too.
