Part I
This recent engagement shoot for one of my cousins resulted in so many beautiful shots that I divided them into two separate posts, so enjoy these images but stay tuned.
Parker and Kaley are troopers. They handled 18 degree weather back in December when we took photos at the Christmas tree lot (click here for a reminder of those pictures), and for this summer edition of their engagement they woke up at the crack of dawn on a Sunday to drive a couple hours south to catch the early morning light. I think it was well worth it because the light in these photos is dreamy.
We spent the first part of the shoot at Parker's family's farm near Old Appleton, Missouri. The woods around the farm and the morning sun sprinkling through the leaves made this series of shots a photographer's dream:
The dogs, Bentley and Mattie, had just been groomed in preparation for getting their picture taken but as soon as their paws hit the ground at the farm it took about 45 seconds of playing before they were covered in mud. Parker and Kaley took it in stride.
Once the dogs had a chance to dry off a bit, we got the family shot Kaley was never able to get before because their fur-babies have a little trouble being still most of the time. :)
